Looking for Help with Your Social Security Disability Appeal?

2012 June 13

By Kelly of Allsup

KellySo you filed for Social Security Disability Insurance, and you were denied. It’s not uncommon given that 66 percent of people who apply are denied the first time. Now what?

You’re probably considering your options regarding your Social Security disability appeal and request for a hearing.

This is an important decision and if you’re like most people who need these benefits, you needed them yesterday, not years from now, which is what many people face because of the SSDI disability claims backlog.

Maybe the SSA has told you that you have the right to representation. Perhaps it would be meaningful to you to hear from someone on the other side—someone who has made it. Yes, it can take time, but it is possible.

You can hear from someone firsthand who used Allsup to successfully appeal for his benefits when the government turned him away.

At first, John was discouraged and didn’t know who to turn to for help after he was denied multiple times.

Social Security Disability Appeal: Questions To Ask

If you were denied Social Security disability benefits and you need help, consider these questions when looking for the right representative:

  • Do you specializing in representing people to get their SSDI benefits?
  • Do you have experience working with my disability?
  • Will you help me work with my doctors and get the medical records needed for my claim? Will you charge me extra for that help?
  • Will you make sure I meet the SSA deadlines?
  • How will I know what’s happening with my claim?

Find more about Choosing Disability Representation on Allsup.com. You can find a number of resources online, including common mistakes to avoid and a checklist for choosing SSDI representation.

I filed for SSDI and SSI back in Jan of 2012 and today got my DENIAL letter- i am soo upset and confused. I have juvenile onset diabetes with many complications, COPD and chronic back pain. I went to 4-5 different appointments they scheduled me for, I am a nurse (worked for 20+ years) in a nursing home- there is NO WAY i can do any kind of work now! I truly am dumbfounded and dont know which way to turn! Will ALLSUP pick up my case now as i am needing to appeal within 60 days? My husband works 50+ hours a week and we BARELY get our bills paid- i need help and fast! Thank you for listening.

Hi, There’s no doubt that your site might
be having browser compatibility problems. When I look at your blog in Safari, it
looks fine however, when opening in I.E., it has some overlapping issues.
I merely wanted to provide you with a quick heads up!
    Other than that, wonderful website!
